Design, Space Planning & Architectural CAD Documentation

About...

Cindy graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman with a Bachelors in Interior Design in May of 1994.

After college, Cindy did her internship with Carol Sisson Designs in Bozeman, Montana working primarily on high-end residential design, finish selection and detail drawings.

In the summer of 1995, Cindy accepted a design position with Karol Niemi Associates and relocated to Portland, Oregon.  She worked on high-end residential projects, both new as well as remodels.   Cindy's projects also included health care remodels and retail spaces.  Being one of only two designers in the office at the time with AutoCAD skills,  Cindy began to expand her knowledge and was soon on her way to learning that creating high quality AutoCAD drawing sets was what she was most passionate about.

In 1996, Cindy saw a way to broaden her design and AutoCAD skills and made a move to Czopek and Erdenberger, also located in Portland, Oregon.   Her projects consisted of designing high-end residential, health care, higher education, as well as playing a large roll in large scale space planning and move management.  C&E also asked Cindy to take a larger roll in the firm as CAD Manager.  Her responsibilities included creating CAD guidelines and standards for the office such as file management, drawing templates, architectural symbols standards, project blocks, layering guidelines, plotting procedures and archiving procedures.  Cindy also provided CAD technical support as well as governing the quality control for all drawings produced in the office.

One of Cindy's clients while working at Czopek & Erdenberger was a high profile government company that required the use of Microstation instead of AutoCAD.  As Cindy was extremely fluent in AutoCAD, she was selected to be trained on Microstation and then teach designers from C&E and an additional design firm the program.  She also developed drawing guidelines and file management standards and governed the quality control of these drawings, too.

In 2000, after having her first child, Cindy decided to start a home based business so that she could be home with her children.  The decision on type of business was relatively easy as her passion was clearly working with AutoCAD creating drawing sets.  She met with local designers and architects and found that her services were greatly needed and appreciated.  She has successfully provided a variety of  services to her expanding, yet often repeat clients who need extra help on their projects but did not wish to hire permanent employees.  These services mostly consisted of producing construction documents, but have also included such responsibilities as architectural specifications, space planning, design as well as site verification and as-built drawings.

In addition to working for architects and designers, Cindy continues doing her own space planning and tenant improvement projects for government and commercial clients.  As her home office is not big enough to accomodate a full design library for finish selections, she partners up with fellow design collegues to provide the complete package for these clients.

Cindy continues her AutoCAD education by taking current relase classes and attending AutoCAD management seminars.  She is also trained on Revit and Microstation.

If you are looking for a highly motivated, reliable, organized person to assist you with space planning, tenant improvements and/or construction documents, do not hesitate to contact Cindy.
